"The Renaissance and the West: Causality and Stereotype" - there's a doctoral thesis in that, even an adjunct professorship. Machiavelli plays the bullying sheriff with his tinpot star, Cinemascope skies are whiplashed with thunderclaps, a Botticelli barmaid and a Bronzino gunslinger escape, the street shoot-out is pure Uccello San Romano war.
